Toru Ishikawa specializes in rehabilitation medicine and physical therapy, with over 20 years of experience in the field. He is particularly skilled in the rehabilitation treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and diseases. In addition to holding Japanese physical therapist qualifications, he possesses specialized knowledge as a welfare living environment coordinator, enabling him to provide comprehensive rehabilitation support tailored to individual living environments.

Ishikawa has been engaged in physical therapy for 20 years. He graduated from Fuji Rehabilitation College in Chiba Prefecture in 2006. He worked for over three years in the departments of orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and home-based rehabilitation at a hospital in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Subsequently, he spent six years in outpatient rehabilitation at an orthopedic clinic in Tokyo, building a solid clinical foundation. Since 2016, he has worked at Japanese clinics in Shanghai for nearly a decade, focusing on musculoskeletal discomfort common among Japanese residents in Shanghai and post-injury rehabilitation for sports enthusiasts. He possesses extensive clinical experience in both Japan and China.

He received his master’s degree from Beijing Capital University of Physical Education and completed advanced training at the Sports Medicine Department of Peking University Third Hospital. In 2015, he served as a rehabilitation therapist for the Organizing Committee of the World Athletics Championships. From 2016 to 2017, he was assigned to the China National Swimming Team as a strength and rehabilitation coach, preparing athletes for the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest and the 13th National Games of China. During this period, he was responsible for sports injury management and performance enhancement, providing physical therapy for elite athletes. John Chen also holds multiple international and professional certifications, including AOPT (American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), and Mulligan Dynamic Joint Mobilization. He previously served as the physical therapy team leader in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of a private medical institution in Shanghai. He is currently a Committee Member of the Rehabilitation Medicine Branch of the Shanghai Association of Social Medical Institutions and provides rehabilitation consulting services for organizations including FWD China, Wellington College International, and CPA Australia.

Dr. Chen specializes in comprehensive rehabilitation programs to develop personalized training plans for her patients. Dr. Shimeng Gao holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, USA, and is a licensed physical therapist in California. With the qualification of Pelvic Floor Level I Clinician by Herman & Wallace, Dr. Gao’s specialties include pelvic health and pelvic floor dysfunctions for both genders, orthopedic and wellness care for all ages, guidance for preconception and pregnancy, as well as chronic pain management. She is capable of addressing pelvic health issues such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain/inflammation, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, and sacroiliac joint dysfunction; male pelvic floor dysfunction issues such as chronic pelvic pain syndrome, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence; orthopedic and wellness care issues such as sports injuries, therapeutic yoga for flexibility and stability, and strength training to prevent osteoporosis and joint maintenance; preconception and pregnancy issues such as perineal massage, personalized guidance on labor positions, and pubic symphysis pain; as well as chronic pain issues such as sciatica, herniated disc, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, piriformis syndrome, and chronic neck pain.
