As one of the nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments worldwide, the Rolex Shanghai Masters is not only Asia’s highest-level men’s professional tennis tournament, but also a major sporting event that supports Shanghai’s ambition to become an international sports events destination. Since the partnership began in 2023, Parkway Shanghai, part of IHH Healthcare multinational network, has played an active role in strengthening the tournament’s medical support provision, including continuously refining its medical response mechanisms and multidisciplinary collaboration while aligning its services with standards for major international sporting events. The renewal of the partnership reflects the tournament organiser’s continued recognition of Parkway Shanghai’s professional capabilities and its commitment in further elevating the standard of medical support for the event.
Parkway Shanghai entered the Chinese market in 2004 and, over the past two decades, it has steadily expanded its local footprint and has developed a comprehensive service network comprising a multispecialty hospital, ambulatory care centre, as well as medical and dental clinics. As a leading international healthcare brand in Shanghai, Parkway Shanghai draws on its integrated healthcare ecosystem and multidisciplinary expertise with established strengths in sports medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics, diagnostic imaging, and international patient services. During the tournament, Parkway Shanghai will coordinate its local resources to provide timely and efficient frontline medical support on site.
Leveraging IHH Healthcare’s multinational resources and high standards, Gleneagles Hong Kong has established itself as a comprehensive integrated healthcare network including a multispecialty hospital, primary care clinics, specialist centres, an ambulatory care centre, as well as laboratory and pharmacy services in Hong Kong. Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong is a tertiary private hospital and a teaching hospital affiliated with The University of Hong Kong Health System. The hospital brings together multiple specialist service centres and multidisciplinary medical teams dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services. Its emergency medicine and sports medicine teams have also provided medical support for a number of major international sporting events.
Parkway Shanghai and Gleneagles Hong Kong will establish a close collaborative framework to provide more comprehensive, professional, and internationally aligned medical support for the tournament. Experienced in serving international patients, Gleneagles will contribute its strengths in emergency care, sports medicine, multidisciplinary collaboration, and complex case management.
This Shanghai-Hong Kong collaboration also aims to set a new benchmark for medical services at top-tier sporting events in Asia. Dr Kenneth Tsang, Regional Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare North Asia, said: “As one of the world’s largest private healthcare networks, IHH Healthcare is committed to providing trusted, high-quality healthcare to local and international patients through our strong clinical capabilities and dedicated professional teams. Bringing together Gleneagles Hong Kong and Parkway Shanghai to support the Rolex Shanghai Masters not only demonstrates the Group’s strength in integrating regional resources, but also highlights the unique value of connecting international healthcare capabilities essential to supporting top sporting events.”

High-quality medical support is an essential part of tournament operation and a hallmark of international professional sporting events. Speaking highly of the long-standing partnership, Michael A. Luevano, Tournament Director of the Rolex Shanghai Masters, said: “A world-class tournament requires not only world-class players, but also a world-class support system. Over the past three years, Parkway Shanghai has provided steadfast support through its professional medical support. We look forward to further deepening our partnership on the foundation we have built together. With Gleneagles Hong Kong joining the collaboration, the tournament will, for the first time, benefit from a medical network of both Shanghai and Hong Kong, further strengthening our ability to respond to complex medical situations and provide players from around the world with more comprehensive medical support of international standards.”
As Shanghai continues to host major international sporting events, high-quality medical support has become an increasingly important measure of the city's service excellence. Drawing on its extensive experience in international healthcare, IHH Healthcare's Shanghai-Hong Kong team is poised to further strengthen the tournament's medical support framework, delivering professional, reliable care throughout the 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters.
